Some of the simpler changes I regularly make to my Stratocasters (besides initial setup, of course!) include replacing the stock string trees with roller trees ( http://store.guitarfetish.com/paofrosttrch.html ), switching to a graphite nut ( http://www.graphtech.com/products.html?CategoryID=5 ), installing a treble-bleed circuit ( http://www.bothners.co.za/articles/volumepot2.shtml ), blocking the upward movement of the tremolo bridge ( http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091212203236AAwbLlQ ), and installing a quick-release strap-lock system.
