About keychain pocket watch creation and other facts

Are you familiar with the top keychain pocket watch inventor? Everything started in France. Abraham Louis was totally involved in the watches creation. He soon realized that watches had a basic problem: people would forget to wind. It was proposed, and then find a way to solve this. And so in 1770 he invented a rocking mechanism by which a spring wound the clock, simply by moving the same.

Fifteen minute walk to the clock on the wrist, were enough to make it work for eight days in a row, according to detailed reports of the time. He was born on timer. He sold some of its watches to the Swiss inventor (and mechanical watchmaker), established in Paris, Abraham Louis Breguet, who improved the system designed and created by Perrelet watch called "Perpetuelle" (Perpetual) in 1780. But these clocks were not very accurate, and almost fell into oblivion until 1923, when another inventor, John Harwood, patented in Switzerland a timer mechanism for its creation.

The first company to sell a keychain pocket watch was Fortis Uhreng timers, from 1926, named Harwood Automatic. With normal daily activity of a person, these clocks could last up to 12 hours without a rope. In 1930, the company broke Harwood because of the Great Depression, and watches were discontinued.

In 1930 and 1931, appeared on Rolls automatic watches (de Leon Hatot), Glycine Bienne and Champagne, all with different automatic mechanisms. Also in 1931 introduced its famous Rolex Rolex Perpetual, with a central rotor mechanism 360, created at the request of Hans Wildorf, one of the founders of the company.

Between 1933 and 1994, the Fels Watches, Jaeger-Le Coultre, Eterna, Patek Philippe, Mido, Girard Perregaux, Piaget, Jean Lasalle and Zenith, among others, had automatic watches with mechanisms not only smaller and smaller, but more accurate and greater autonomy. With normal use 12 hours, for example, an average keychain pocket watch timer has enough rope to run for 40 hours, even without using it. The best performance achieved to date was achieved by Frederic Piguet automatic watches with a mechanism invented in 1993, which gives 100 hours.
