Why do some Black Polished river rocks not say for aquarium use and other do?

So I picked up a bag of polished black river rock for my Betta's floor (I figure it's safer for him to lay on than dirty gravel, and he seems to like it)
So, I have it in the tank, and my boy seems fine, so why do they say nothing, but the ones in pet stores say they are specifically safe for aquariums.
Will mine hurt my boy in some way? They've been in there for about two weeks, the water quality is great, and he swims around just fine., eats well and has healthy fins.

There two reasons. One, is because the ones that say "Aquarium Safe" are stones that were chosen that had no calcium carbonate content or a.k.a. Limestone. Also, they polished the stone, and cleaned it off so no dirt or bacteria could grow on it or escape from it. Now, I have excperienced this exact situation myself, and I used to pick up stones from a nearby source for free and rinse them off, but I had to make sure none were limestone, and had no concrete on it. Now, the stones didn't have any visible effect on the fish, but if I or you were to put any stone that had calcium or limestone in it or concrete, and put it in the aquarium it would increase hardness. Another reason why they say "Aquarium Safe", is really a marketing scheme. Most people who don't study this, and are just quickly going by the fish department and don't have the time to look and compare and analyze. So, they take the shortcut route and look for that tag that says "Aquarium Rocks!".

2.- "Will mine hurt my boy in some way?"

No stones will harmfully effect your fish except if it has concrete or calcium. You can visually inspect for concrete, but to check for calcium you can put a few drops of vinegar on the rock and if you notice some subtle fizzing, it has calcium.
