Why do people from Council Estates get bad press?

I live on a Council Estate and everyone I know work and pay their bills, so why are we regarded as scum.
I was laughed at because I live in a Council house - well at least my mam and dad don't have massive mortgages around their necks and we pay taxes and are nice people.
I am proud to be a council estate princess so if anyone has an opinion plz txt bk x

Most council estates aren't actually all council owned since the right to buy sceme was introduced. But i agree with you , the councils and the press always make out it's the tennants who cause all the problems.The councils threatening to evict tennants who cause problems. I live on a council estte and half the houses are now private and some of the occupiers think they can do what they like where as a tennant can't . Really annoys me.
