In all gold there are some elements of impurities like nickel. White gold and yellow gold engagement rings generally come in 14 carat or 18 carat. However, the 14 carat gold ring is stronger due to these impurities being in it. This means that it will resist scratches better than the 18 carat.

Even after engagement, woman says she will not turn claddagh ring until marriage. Right to be mad?

Honestly, this bothers me. We are both of Irish descent. Even though we are engaged, she said she will not turn her ring "in" until we are married.

It bothers me because she works at a job where she can't always wear Her Wedding ring. I think it's a slap in the face and that she's trying to hide from other that she is engaged since she will not turn her ring "in."

Opinions?

Technically it is a gift and she has the right to keep it, but any decent woman would return an engagement ring if you asked.
