christian's mommy - don't feel stupid. i love rings that have meaning behind them. my sister is probably using my grandmother's wedding band for Her Wedding band. i think it's really a nice gesture.
It's actually my grandmothers set, it was left to my cousin and she was to leave it to me, well since everyone knew we were going to get married (we just said let's get married I had no ring, yet) she secretly gave it to my husband. I was so shocked to see it I was so happy I always loved those rings and I asked my grandma once when she was in the hospital if I could have them one day and she said of course, I was only 3 years old at the time and they were being left to my cousin anyhow, but a deal was made between the two that I would get them for my wedding and her wish has been granted.
The engagement ring is just a simple diamond I couldn't tell you how large. It was bought in the 1940's. But it is real diamond and 14k gold. It's value today it through the roof because it's so old plus gold is so expensive. The band is just simple and has diamonds on the top half, it's very victorian looking I get many complaints.
