Can you paint paper lanterns?

I am getting married next year and my colors are blue and copper. The combination can be beautiful, unfortunately I'm having a hard time finding copper wedding decorations. I am wanting to hang paper lanterns, but can't find copper ones anywhere. If I bought white ones, would I be able to paint them the color I wish?

Not really sorry. You'd be making them opaque instead of transparent so the light you know, wouldn't show well if at all.

Maybe try painting some pretty scroll work in copper or blue on them. I did something like that on some lanterns in my daughters nursery and they now reflect pretty silhouettes across the room.
