Is Palladium a good choice for my wedding band?

I have a platinum Engagement Ring but we are not looking to spend as much on our wedding bands. I have found a goldsmith on Etsy that makes beautiful Palladium 950 wedding bands, even creates custom pieces for what seems a reasonable price (compared to Platinum).

My question is if I chose Palladium, will it mark up like my platinum ring did and if so will the colour compliment my engagement ring. Platinum kind of dulls down as it gets scratched up but I understand this does not decrease the value and can be polished up.

I'd appreciate any feedback and especially welcome advice from people who own Palladium jewelry.

Absolutely a great choice.

As you probably know, palladium behaves much like platinum, but is much more affordable. It will mark up the same, develop a patina, and can be polished to look like new. Palladium and platinum match up really well. Palladium is somewhat whiter but the difference isn't much. One difference you will note is palladium weighs a lot less than platinum, weighing in closer to gold. Some people like the heavier feel of platinum, I consider the lightweight quality preferable, all personal preference.

All our engagement and wedding jewelry is 950 palladium and could not be happier. Love the shiny white finish and that it is hypoallergenic, as I react to most other metals. Makes me wonder why anyone buys white gold or platinum.
